Yo Soy America explores the immigration topic through candid and frank interviews with people from all ethnic and cultural background. It
seeks to challenge and educate while opening up honest and heartfelt
stories of peoples roots and ideas through family stories. In a first
hand narrative of what it is to live and be an American.
This project is the brain child of Tabitha Russell & Billy Joe Martinez. After having both documented the Mega March in 2005. One with the video camera and candid on the street interviews. The other with a digital photography camera , making compelling images of the emotions. The two best friends struck out to make a documentary on immigration. Combing their skills to capture stories of people. Soon they enlisted the help of talented designer Angela Faz to help bring the multimedia message to life.
